Abstract
A pamphlet and exhibit about the functional artwork by Harun Morrison ad Paul Granjon, 'The Singing Compost', installed in Goldsmith's Art Research Garden at 43 Lewisham Way, London. 'The Singing Compost' is a composter equipped by a solar panel powered Arduino board that records the bacterial activity of the organic matter in the process of decaying, and transforms it into sound, broadcast in the garden.
This pamphlet was put together on the occasion of the British Society of Soil Science's annual conference, 'Sustainable Soils for People and Planet' (4-6 December 2024). The artwork was exhibited in the culture room of the conference.
