Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter: Positions young children’s participation as relational, shaped by the physical and social spaces they encounter in school; Introduces you to key theoretical ideas and research literature that foreground space as central to children’s participatory experiences; Shows, through case-studies, how the relational interplay between children, practitioners, and spaces can both support and constrain opportunities for participation; and Encourages critical reflection on how everyday spatial and temporal practices can embed sustained and meaningful participation within school life.
