Abstract

There is ever-increasing pressure for teaching in Higher Education to be directly relevant to the career that students are aiming to pursue. There is a need, therefore, to link teaching directly to practical application of the learning material. One approach to doing this is to form partnerships with businesses, so that they are contributing to the content of the module. This also benefits the businesses as they get the opportunity to meet students and identify talent that they would like to recruit into the business. This chapter looks at the process of module sponsorship and the benefits and challenges that it brings.
