Abstract

This book presents an overview of human posture and focuses on how it can be influenced by a number of sporting and physical activities as well as biomechanical, physiological, and psycho-sociological factors. It presents a range of chapters that discuss various assessment protocols to posture and details how certain approaches such as yoga, postural chain theory, and pilates can be integrated into various management programs. It brings together invited contributions from across the world and from authors who are experts in their specific field. This book is intended for those who have an interest in posture and how it influences function, pathology and treatment.
