Abstract

The central focus of the book related to England and the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (AYSE) in that country. However, it is crucial to acknowledge and to learn from the other three countries and their experiences of supporting newly qualified social workers. Chapter 2 presents background information on social work and support for new practitioners in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
