Abstract

The benefits of outdoor learning in the primary school have long been recognised globally and have become increasingly embedded in the different curricula of schools in the four countries of the United Kingdom (UK) and beyond. This is part of the emergence of a movement to reconnect children with nature. At the same time, interest in the potential for using interactive technologies in outdoor learning in primary schools is growing. This chapter examines the potential of, and challenges of, exploiting technologies in combination with the unique environments available outside of the classroom
