Abstract

This paper presents an information technology infrastructure enabled by grid computing as a solution to todays changing business needs. The paper introduces the concepts of grid computing by highlighting its evolution, business and technological benefits. Since the Information Technology has taken the center stage in the operation of business appropriate investment is essentially required. The paper provides a survey of various organizations that have successfully employed grid computing as a tool. The study has revealed that participating organization haves been able to reduce costs by moving to an enterprise grid computing environment.
