Abstract

2S albumin fractions were extracted from seven lines and two hybrid varieties of Helianthus animus of widely different origins. Analyses by one-and two-dimensional sodium dodecylsulphate polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis and by reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography showed that these fractions were mixtures of polypeptides with Ms between 10 000 and 18 000. In addition, the nine genotypes differed in the presence or absence of certain polypeptides and in their relative abundances.
