Abstract

Editor's Comment: I am grateful to Brenda Beatty and Megan Crawford for all their efforts and hard work on this edition and the previous edition. Both make compelling reading and offer new insights into the emotional world of leaders. I hope that these editions also signal that School Leadership and Management is becoming an international journal that encourages debate and discussion from around the world about controversial and alternative conceptions of leadership practice. Peter Gronn has talked about designer leadership and there is an inherent danger that will prevail unless we are constantly challenged to think otherwise. I hope in the editions to come, as practitioners and researchers, we are asked to revisit our assumptions and to think again about the nature of leadership is in a rapidly changing educational world.
