Abstract

Comparing with centralized systems, distributed systems have a lot advantages. But data consistency is a big challenge they faced. In order to solve the problem of data consistency in distributed cooperative systems, an improved tree-based total ordering multicast algorithm ITTOMA has been presented. Using multicast tree that has been built, ordering process has been transferred from transmission path to message source and root of the tree. The ordering algorithm has been simplified greatly by the combination of local sequence number and total sequence number. Algorithm analysis and practical test results show that ITTOMA has implemented total ordering multicast efficiently and guaranteed the data consistency in the distributed cooperative system.
