Abstract
This article is a 'think piece'. It outlines some of the ideas and reflections that were generated from a two-day international symposium on 'Creative Leadership' in Bali in 2008. The article presents some initial thoughts about creative leadership and highlights that the next wave of leaders will require creative skills and aptitudes. It suggests that the most effective leaders in the twenty-first century will be those that help individuals and teams to release and apply their creativity. This implies widely distributed forms of leadership practice that provide the 'spaces' for creativity to flourish and a high commitment to collaborative ways of working.
