Abstract
BredaPhoto is the largest photo exhibition in the Benelux and is held every two years in Breda. During this seven-week photo exhibition, national and international top photographers – together with new talent – exhibit their work at attractive indoor and outdoor locations in Breda. The 9th edition of BredaPhoto will be held from September 9 to October 25, 2020.
The year 2020 was an eventful one that none of us will forget. It was the year that corona ensured that globally we had to drastically change our behaviour to protect the weakest in our society. For the festival, that meant radically we had to change course, but without losing sight of the content of the festival. And we succeeded!
In between the lockdowns, we managed to keep the doors of BredaPhoto 2020 open. And what a success it turned out to be! Our photographers and visitors were relieved, grateful and happy that the work could still be seen. The hybrid form consisting of exhibitions in the centre of Breda, combined with a digital platform, proved to be a successful formula. Thanks to all the support we received from volunteers, partners and sponsors, we were able to welcome the more than 55.000 visitors. Watch the aftermovie for a flashback!
