Anaerobic performance and body composition of international rugby union players

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Chapter

Abstract

The game of rugby union football demands a wide variety of playing skills; as a result there tends to be a fairly high degree of player specialisation. This diversity of performance has two immediate consequences. The first concerns the structural characteristics of players, the second the functional demands of the playing positions themselves. For optimal performance, therefore, it is necessary to identify and respond to both these factors.
