Abstract
The Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) is now very popular in the power system since it can ensure the maximum reliability of the microgrid by creating an intensive monitoring system. This paper discusses a coherent off-line approach to recovering missing PMU data to elevate the reliability of the distribution network. The proposed scheme categorized the missing data from its current location position and offered a specific solution for each category. To validate the performance of the proposed system, a modified IEEE 30 bus system has been selected since it represents the typical PETRONAS plant and, more relevant to the industrial application, is designed and originated from the PMU data from that model. The outcome shows that the proposed scheme is well suited to the island detection system. Also, it can recover the overall 30% PMU data from the scheme calculation, which will be able to increase the entire reliability index of the distribution network.
