Research interests
Sylvia Moeskops, PhD, CSCS, FHEA is a Lecturer in Strength and Conditioning at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Her research interests centre around the effects of growth, maturation, and training on strength and power and long-term athletic development in youth and more specifically, young gymnasts.
Sylvia is also a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and works within the Youth Physical Development Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University. She is passionate about using research to inform her practice and aims to deliver enjoyable, developmentally appropriate, athlete-centred training programmes. Sylvia has delivered CPD workshops on Youth Athletic Development for technical coaches on behalf of National Governing Bodies and has presented at both the NSCA and UKSCA conferences.
