Research interests
Dr. Khan has published his research in reputed international journals, including Corporate Governance: An International Review, Business Strategy and the Environment, Finance Research Letters, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Environmental Management, Business Process Management Journal, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, and Journal of Management and Governance, among others.
He has received several prestigious research grants, including the British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grant (2024/25) for his project titled “Governing sustainability: modelling the optimal composition of sustainability committees to improve ESG performance in SMEs.” Earlier, his research on board gender diversity and responsible/ethical finance was funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, reflecting a consistent record of securing competitive funding and producing impactful research outcomes.
Dr. Khan’s earlier research primarily focused on applying classical models in banking and finance. However, his current research agenda has shifted toward exploring the role of finance in advancing sustainable initiatives through innovative applications of data science, including machine learning, deep learning, text analysis, and big data techniques.
