Personal profile
Research interests
I am lecturer in Applied Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University, a chartered Psychologist with the BPS (CPsychol) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academic (FHEA). I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Counselling Studies, an MSc in Health Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology. I have been a full-time member of staff at Cardiff Met since October 2022, however, prior to this I had been a associate lecturer since 2017.
Prior to my post at Cardiff Met, I worked as a senior clinical research for NHS Wales and as an assistant psychologist working within forensic mental health and neurorehabilitation services within South Wales.
My research primarily focuses on physical health inequalities, particularly obesity, within forensic settings. However, I am also interested in physical health within psychiatric populations more broadly, and am passionate about the improvement of care and treatment for individuals treated within forensic inpatient settings.
