Research interests
Jennifer is currently a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Policing. She holds a doctorate in Criminology from the University of South Wales which concerned the working practices of homicide detectives and third parties involved in the interviewing of vulnerable suspects. She has also obtained a LLB (Hons) in Law from UWE, an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Cardiff University and is a Fellow of Higher Education.
Research interests include police investigation, vulnerability, investigative interviewing, homicide, violent crime, stalking, domestic abuse and hate crime.
Previously, Jennifer worked for Avon and Somerset Police as a Major Crime Investigation Officer and participated on several high-profile homicide investigations. She is currently a member of the Homicide Research Group, the Welsh Centre for Crime and Social Justice, VAWDASV Research Network Wales, the Society for Evidence Based Policing and the European Society of Criminology.
