Personal profile
Research interests
I am a Lecturer in Bilingual Research Methods at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Principal duties within this position include Programme Director for the BSc Football Coaching and Performance degree, dissertation/research coordinator for BSc Astudiaethau Chwaraeon ac Addysg Gorfforol (Welsh Sport and Physical Education), and teaching on a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral modules.
My research interests are located within the sociology of sports coaching, with a particular focus on the everyday working practices and lived experiences of coaches. Following the completion of my Doctorate in Sport Coaching, I have continued to develop research that explores coach welfare, professional identity, emotional labour, invisible labour, and the relationship between work, home and non-work. I am also interested in how coaches account for, explain, and justify what they do within the social and organisational contexts of their work.
