Research interests

Charlie is a Senior lecturer in Sport Coaching at the Cardiff School of Sport, Cardiff Metropolitan University. Charlie’s research interests relate to the everyday affairs of coaches, paying particular interest to observation and the discoveries of coaching practice. To date, his work has drawn upon the work of Harold Garfinkel and ethnomethodology to explore coaches' everyday practices. Charlie also has a wider interest in the social sciences and qualitative research more generally. Key areas of interest include:

- Learning and development in sport
