Research interests

I am a Reader (Associate Professor) in Bioengineering, Head of the Bioengineering Research Group, and Deputy Director of the EUREKA Robotics Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I am also a 2023-24 Fulbright Scholar in the NSF ATP-Bio research centre at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.

My current research focuses on the development of laboratory systems for biopreservation and transplantation, tools for analysing signalling networks in the nervous system, and the development of classification and staging systems for ageing-related pathology within the context of the WHO ICD-11.
