Research interests

 

Dr Anna Bryant is the Director of Teacher Education and Professional Learning (Research) at the Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy (CSESP), Cardiff Metropolitan University. After a period as a secondary physical education teacher at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg. Anna joined the University as a full time member of staff in 2011. She has since made a significant contribution to the development of Physical Health Education by leading the PHELL Research group and more recently Initial Teacher Education (ITE) at the Cardiff Partnership. Dr Bryant's work has focused on adopting a person-centred approach with teachers and learners in primary and secondary schools. The context of this work has been framed around  Physical health education (Physical Literacy, Health  and Well-being) and  teacher education (professional learning  and enquiry). Dr Bryant has project led Cardiff Metropolitan University's 'Sport Wales' Consultants' and was an international panel member for the Australian Sports Commission's Physical Literacy Project (2016-2017).  She has been involved in providing academic consultancy to the Welsh Government on the Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) and  plays an important part in the UKPE Collaborative project across the four home nations of the UK. Moreover, she has played a central part in Cardiff Metropolitan University's Welsh Government National Professional Enquiry Project (NPEP).
