The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education Research Group seeks to contribute to Welsh Government priorities in relation to diversity, equity, and inclusion – e.g., an anti-racist agenda, gender, LGBTQ+, disability, and ALN.
It will inform national and international knowledge systems through close-to-practice orientated research. The intention being to place the group, the school, and the University in a strong position to contribute to and lead on this research.
The group would have a strong commitment to inter-disciplinary research both within Cardiff Met and through engagement with external partners. Current members of the group are drawn from several Cardiff Met schools and we will seek participation from across the university. Opportunities for collaboration, will be actively pursued.
The group would seek to contribute to Cardiff Met’s research mission through focus on applied research at the interface of new knowledge creation and application. Group outputs would particularly align to Resilient Places and Peoples Global Academy.
