Requirements Elicitation (RE) is a formal practice focusing on collecting users' needs, whereas dynamic parameterization (DP) is the process of finding parametric equivalence of an algorithm whose state evolves with time. Traditional data acquisition methods such as interviews, observations and questionnaires are faced with challenges especially when it comes to eliciting requirements for dynamic algorithms unambiguously. In this study, we did a comprehensive survey on contemporary RE approaches for dynamic parameterization and the factors to consider when selecting an approach to use in Feature Extraction Algorithms (FEA). Based on our findings we proposed a model that optimizes the process of RE for dynamic algorithms. A case study approach was used to evaluate the implementation our proposal.
