abstract = "The purpose of this paper is to present the use of fuzzy inference methodologies in the performance testing of refrigerators, as an efficient alternative to the classical time-consuming and relatively complex techniques. The basic elements that are used to optimize the performance of a refrigerator are fuzzified and then used in fuzzy inference models to represent the intelligent behavior of a human tester. These models are simulated and the results are compared with the ones obtained by classical algorithms. Further, conclusive comments are provided regarding the effectiveness of the introduced models and the avenues that need to be explored in order to make them increasingly efficient and fully automated.",
