Crynodeb

The International Ceramics Studio residency is awarded on a biannual basis as a collaboration between the International Ceramics Festival and ICS. It involves a four-week period of making within the rich cultural surroundings of Hungary, supported by the world-renowned ceramics studios technical support and facilities.

As part of this I was also formally invited to take part in the studios annual 'International Symposium' adopting the theme of figuration. Seven artists took part resulting in presentations, discussions, collaborations, a series of public lectures, workshops, exhibition.

My work ‘Palimpsest’ was selected to become part of the studios Contemporary Ceramics Collection – a major collection in European and international ceramics.

The residency was funded by the ICS and ICF collaboration, and a further grant awarded for travel by Wales Arts International. A presentation was given in Aberystwyth at ICF the following year funded by South Wales Potters.
