Crynodeb

In my (Andrew’s) training, ethics always felt like the tack‑on topic to the curriculum—something that only other practitioners had to be mindful of because I, of course, would always be able to identify and act on the ethical course of action. “Ethics follows logic,” I thought, “and I’m a logical person.” Fast forward to my first one‑on‑one with an athlete and suddenly my logic seemed to fail me. It is now a topic that I relish teaching because ethics is not about what we do to or for others; rather, it is the behavioral manifestation of our values and beliefs systems. It is the ultimate self‑reflective journey. And as we are continually growing and developing, our ethical guidelines also must evolve and be refined (and some‑ times, completely shatter). Our three author groups provide key conceptual insights—and also a case study example that reminds us of the messiness that is real‑world ethical practice. Together, these contributions provide a sensitizing read, especially for student readers newer to the ethical world behind SEPP service delivery.
