In this chapter, we explore how the General Data Protection Regulations 2016 (GDPR) framework supports and enhances Big Data in a global pandemic situation to capture relevant issues and challenges. Other equally ground-breaking technologies are discussed in tandem to also contribute to technological and legal innovation and research to improve Data Security and Privacy. Fundamental principles apply to any European Union (EU) business, institution and individuals whether in the public or private domains. Therefore, Coopetition (business and competitors cooperate and compete for mutual gain) and Data Provenance between domains and sectors must utilise marketing media and resource allocation in an effective and controlled virtual environment to benefit all stakeholders to include complimenting a principled approach and strategy. We present legislative framework research literature, and consequent findings undertaken by IT professionals, experts and the public to try and grasp the gravity of trust, information quality and its dissemination under extreme circumstances like the current Covid-19 global pandemic.
