Located within the Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy, the Centre for International Research on Interactive Technologies in Teaching and Learning (CIRITTL) draws from both staff research expertise and established collaborative research networks across the School, the University, across Wales and beyond. Due to interdisciplinary nature of technology, and its’ role within teaching and learning, the group aims to develop capacity across the university with the outcome of developing a research and evidence base to benefit both Cardiff Met and Wales as a whole.
The mission of the group is to build on, and extend, international collaborative research and REF 2021 Impact Case Study, in the use of interactive technologies in teaching and learning at all ages and contexts. Interactive technologies, and the wide array of technology that this encompasses, have many applications to teaching and learning across the education system. However, research and evidence are often lacking. Coupled with the additional challenge of emerging technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), the research group would aim to provide guidance and research to influence future policy and practice, both within the university and beyond.
